Nightlife Renaissance

Stepping deeper into the alleyway, the story transitions into LKF's rise as Asia's premier nightlife capital. This era pays tribute to the vibrant energy of iconic hotspots like Dragon-i, Volar, and KEE Club that defined the global glamour of the turn of the millennium. Nestled within this vibrant corridor is a nostalgic nod to the historic site of the original Midnight Express—an artistic homage to the timeless cinematic allure immortalised in Wong Kar-wai’s Chungking Express, capturing the romantic mood of Central after dark.

The Spark & Evolution

Continuing along the corridor, neon hues flow into the foundational era of LKF's nightlife. Front and centre is an artistic tribute inspired by the legendary California Bar & Restaurant (1983)—capturing the playful spirit of founder Allan Zeman riding a Vespa alongside a bunny, a nostalgic nod to the venue's original entrance installation that transformed Lan Kwai Fong into a mainstream phenomenon. This vibrant backdrop seamlessly flows into homages celebrating the memory of Disco Disco (1978) and Club 1997, completing the trio of pioneering establishments that launched LKF onto the world stage.
