Don’t let a small apartment stop you throwing a great dinner party – just book a private room and make it your own!
Entertaining is an art, and sometimes it’s best to leave it to the professionals. Even if you’re the host with the most, having someone else handle the cooking, serving and cleaning can be a real blessing—it gives you the freedom to focus on your guests and actually have fun!
So, if you have a special occasion coming up (perhaps a birthday or an engagement?), don’t stress yourself out, just let the experts handle it! Here are a few of our favourite places in Lan Kwai Fong with private dining rooms you can book for your next party.
Buenos Aires Polo Club
This Argentinian steakhouse is a delightful maze of rooms, each offering something unique. Of course, there is the main dining room with its beautiful saddles and trophies lining the walls. But did you know they have three private rooms available? In the back is the Mirror Room, the largest of the three. Then there’s the mid-sized Club Room, which shows off the restaurant’s Argentinian wine cellar, and finally the intimate Cabinet Room, home to co-founder Christopher Mark’s impressive collection of steak knives.

Employees Only
This Hong Kong-outpost of the New York-originally quickly stole our hearts with their warm service, awesome drinks and great late-night bites. And we love that they can cater to private events too! They have two private rooms available, so you can celebrate your special moments in your favourite bar. The first is an extension of the main dining room that can hold up to 30 people. A red curtain separates you from the rest of the bar, so you can keep the buzzy atmosphere while still having your own space. The Red Room, adjacent to the bar, is a bit cosier and can hold up to 15 people. When the DJ is spinning, you’ll feel like you have your own private club.

Duddell’s
For an elegant affair, head to Duddell’s. This beautiful two-floored space is as much museum as It is restaurant, so you can treat your guests to delicious dim sum and beautiful art. They say walking into Duddell’s is like entering the home of an eclectic art collector – and they’re not wrong. But this art collector also has a Michelin-star and a garden terrace. The chic restaurant has a number of spaces that can be turned into private rooms, just speak to their lovely team to find the perfect one for you.

Los Sotano
Planning a big night out? Then Los Sotano is where you want to be. This hidden tequila and mezcal lounge is more than our favourite spot for late-night margaritas, it’s also a great option for your next bash. You can book this sexy, graffiti-clad basement for up to 120 of your friends and give them a night to remember (or, more realistically, a night they won’t remember).

Carbone
The only way to make spicy vodka rigatoni and lemon cheesecake taste even better, is to have them in the privacy of your own room. That’s right, your favourite mid-century Italian spot can give you more than just great service and meatballs, they can give you a private room to call your own for the evening. Call the restaurant and ask about booking your perfect space for that special occasion.
