Departing from the typical all-night affair, Wild Lotus aims to offer a more accessible and immersive music experience, allowing attendees to soak up the tunes and vibe without having to pull an all-nighter.
Not strictly focused on electronic music, Wild Lotus will also host events featuring live music from local and regional talents.
'Wild Lotus #1: Blooming'
The inaugural event, "Wild Lotus #1: Blooming," is set to take place on September 7th from 5 PM to 12 AM at G.I.G, Ovolo Southside. The lineup is a tantalizing mix of regional talent, headlined by Japanese artists Soichi Terada (live) and CHIDA.
Soichi Terada: Pioneering Japanese Electronic Music
Soichi Terada is a Japanese electronic music composer, best known for his work in the Ape Escape video game series. He started producing music in 1989 as well as remixing singers such as Nami Shimada. He and fellow producer Shinichiro Yokota formed Far East Recording in 1990, releasing various albums and singles.
CHIDA: A Tokyo Underground House Music Legend
CHIDA has been a pioneer of the Tokyo underground house music scene from early 90s. His recent label project "Ene" in 2009, the records are ultra limited and hard to find but live up to every inch of the hype they've created.
Supporting Acts
Supporting the headliners are Hong Kong's own Chingyi and the Fader Crew, comprising DJs Crystal So, John L, Match, and Tiga. The event will also feature a b-boy showcase by The 852 Underdogz and visuals by Akira Mimasu.
